About the Classroom Student Picker
Keep students alert and class participation high with the Classroom Name Picker. Physical draws can feel biased, but our secure wheel ensures every student has an equal mathematical probability. Teachers can project this onto smartboards, creating a playful, game-show-like anticipation in the classroom.
How It Works
- Type your class roster into the entry panel.
- Spin the wheel to choose a student for a question, reading task, or helper role.
- Select 'Remove Winner' to take the student out of the rotation, preventing them from being picked again immediately.
- At the end of class, click 'Reset' or undo removals to prepare for the next lesson.
Frequently Asked Questions
How can I save my class lists so I don't have to paste them every day?
Your last entry list is automatically saved in your browser's Local Storage. If you teach multiple classes, you can configure each list once, click 'Share Wheel', and bookmark the generated URLs (e.g. rename the bookmark 'Period 1 Biology') to load them instantly.
Can I use keyboard shortcuts while teaching?
Yes. Teachers can press the Spacebar to spin the wheel, 'R' to reset the entries, and 'F' to enter fullscreen mode, allowing you to control the app from anywhere in the room using a clicker or keyboard.
